I have been listening to one of the songs from the Who album "Endless Wire." It is called "God Speaks of Marty Robbins." Marty Robbins, of course, one of the great dramatic, romantic country singers of the 1950s and early 1960s: He is best known for the No. 1 hit, "El Paso" released in 1959.

My father's name happens to be Marty Robins.
The only time my father was ever confused with the country singer whom God speaks of in Pete Townshend's song, was many years ago when he became frustrated by the "no reservations" (except for VIPs) policy at Joe's Stone Crab in Miami Beach.

He called and asked: "Can I get a table for Marty Robins?" And they said, of course, it will be their pleasure. At what time would Mr. Robbins' party like to dine?

There are a surprising (to me) number of Marty Robbins videos on
You Tube. Here's one of them. Apologies to earlier viewers who found the link to the Townshend video faulty.
